After months of uncertainty, the ServiceOntario options are staying put in Dresden.

Chatham-Kent officials confirmed with the Sydenham Current that the provincial services provided at the Dresden Municipal building will continue being offered at least for the next five years.

Municipal officials are deferring their comments to ServiceOntario representatives. After speaking with the Sydenham Current, provincial officials said more details would be provided by Friday, Dec. 11.

The provincial services offered at the Dresden Municipal building include the administration and issuance of driver and vehicle licensing, health cards, and provincial identification.

The Municipality’s contract with the province was set to expire on December 23, after they lost a bid to renew the contract earlier this year.

We’ll provide more details when they become available.
