Tobias, Marilyn (Noah) – of Moraviantown (Delaware Nation) passed away peacefully, with family at her side, at the Four Counties Health Services, Newbury on Wednesday, December 30, 2015.
Marilyn retired after 30 years from Delaware Nation Council. She was proud of her profession and wanted to make a difference in people’s lives. Community programs and services addressed diabetes, cancer, grief recovery, residential school syndrome, traditional health practices and ceremonies. She celebrated her graduation ceremonies from Georgian College and Mohawk College.
Marilyn used a lot of good natured humour to teach about kindness and generosity. Before retiring she was a recipient of the National Community Health Representative award that was presented to her by North of 60 actress, Tina Keeper. Marilyn enjoyed her vacations and travelling with her family and friends to Dominican Republic, Mexico, Florida, Nevada, Newfoundland, Ohio, Nova Scotia and Maine.
The Tobias family will receive friends at the John C. Badder Funeral Home 72 Victoria St., Thamesville on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A celebration of her life will be at from the funeral home on Monday, January 4, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. followed with private traditional ceremonies.
