Unauthorized use of a credit card

Last night around 5:00 p.m. a woman received $50 in her bank account to purchase formula for her child.

By 5:15 p.m. a man had accessed his ex-girlfriend’s bank account through his PlayStation network to purchase software.

Police say the $48 transaction was conducted without the woman’s consent.

The 28-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested and charged with unauthorized use of a credit card.

He was released with conditions pending a future court date of January 26, 2016.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service would like to remind everyone to keep their credit card information, passwords and PIN numbers confidential.

Sharing any of this information with another person places your finances and privacy at risk.

If someone knows your PIN, change it right away.
