All-Ontario Farmers Curling Bonspiel coming to Wallaceburg

The 31st edition of the All Ontario Farmers curling bonspiel is being held Jan 15-17 at Sydenham Community curling club in Wallaceburg.

28 teams from across the province will vie for $16,000 in prize money and agricultural related product in a friendly atmosphere of competition.

The 1st place team is the winner of the Bob Richmond trophy and shares in $2,000 sponsored by Waddick Fuels and Petro Canada.

This bonspiel is one of two main fund raisers for the Sydenham Community Curling Club which helps the local curling facility to maintain and provide a venue for the sport of curling.

Last year’s winner Scott Lennox from Arthur is back to defend his crown.

Nine local teams and 18 teams from Forest, Ridgetown, London, Kincardine etc. are hoping to take their best shot.

The four-time winning local rink of Jerry Meyskins will attempt to be one of the teams to capture top prize.

However the rink of brother Dave Meyskins will attempt to stop this from happening with their first win.

Saturday night sees entertainment from Fraser Frase a comedian and hypnotist provided for all participants.

Also back by popular demand Tractor races Friday and Sat.

Finals go Sunday at 2 p.m.
