The Optimist Club of Sombra Township gave out seven bursary awards at their first general meeting in the new year.
Seven area university/college students, five first year and two second year, received a total of $1,450 in bursary money from the Sombra Club for the 2015-2016 school year.
“As an Optimist club we recognize the importance of investing in the youth of our community and their efforts to continue their education,” stated Carla Aarssen, Sombra Township Optimist Club president.
