Hate having needles but like the protection the flu shot offers? Flu Mist may be an option.
The Chatham-Kent Public Health Unit says FluMist is a new way to protect your family from the flu without the use of a needle.
Instead, a fine mist is sprayed into each nostril.
This vaccine offers protection from four different strains of the flu.
Unlike the needle, FluMist contains a live but weakened virus.
It can be provided to those 2-59, however is only free in Ontario for those 2-17.
FluMist is not for everyone, talk to your health care provider to find out if it may be right for you.
