Update: On February 1, 2016 police responded to a theft at the Critter Shop on St. Clair Street in Chatham.
Around 3:30 p.m. the man entered the store and stole three (3) dog leashes valued at $108. The man fled the area on a lime green mountain bike and was last seen travelling southbound on St. Clair Street.
At the time of the incident, the man was wearing a long winter jacket with a fur lined hoodie. He was also wearing a ball cap and glasses.
Yesterday, police released a photograph of the suspect and he was identified.
Last night, a 35-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with theft under $5000 and possession of property obtained by a crime under $5000. He was released with conditions pending a future court date of February 24, 2016.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service would like to thank the public for their assistance.
