Nursing job fair for CKHA

Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (CKHA) is hosting a Nursing Job Fair on Wednesday, February 24 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the John D Bradley Convention Centre, located at 565 Richmond Street.

Nurses from across Southwestern Ontario are invited to visit CKHA to meet representatives of the clinical management team and talk to staff nurses, view displays, and enter prize draws.

CKHA is currently accepting applications for Registered Nurses, Registered Practical Nurses and Nurse Practitioners within many of its core programs including Emergency, Intensive Care Unit, Medicine, Surgical/OR, Women & Children’s Health, Mental Health & Addictions, Rehabilitation and Complex Continuing Care.

Interested candidates are encouraged to visit CKHA’s website, www.ckha.on.ca/careers and submit an online application under future opportunities for areas you may be interested in working.

“Whether you are looking to start your career or make a career change, we invite nursing professionals to come and explore career opportunities that may be available now and in the future at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance,” said Willi Kirenko, Vice President and Chief Nursing Executive. “We are excited to host this necessary event and look forward to meeting potential candidates and talk about our programs. Attendees will see and hear how CKHA has an excellent reputation as an employer of choice among healthcare professionals.”

“We believe our organization exemplifies the vision to be ‘an exceptional community hospital’ and have a reputation for promoting service excellence and patient and family centred care which professional staff would find a good fit with their values,” she added.

CKHA Recruitment Specialist, Cheryl Deneau, explains the need for recruitment. “We have immediate needs and a number of nursing staff eligible for retirement in the next few years and want to ensure that nursing professionals looking for employment opportunities are provided with information about potential employment here at CKHA,” she said.

“We have had great success in a more personalized approach to recruitment. Inviting nursing professionals to meet us one-on-one and giving them the opportunity to speak to our staff offers a firsthand experience of our culture and information about what we have to offer.”

Registration is not required.

Free parking is available at the John D Bradley Convention Centre.
