Despite rumours flying around and a busy trade deadline by the Boston Bruins, Wallaceburg’s Seth Griffith is staying put.

Hockey Night in Canada analyst Elliotte Friedman tweeted about Griffith twice on Monday morning in the middle of the trade deadline frenzy across the league.

“Some talk around BOS F Seth Griffith. 60 pts in 46 games at AHL Providence. 23 years old,” Friedman tweeted.

“One note about Griffith: waiver-eligible in September. So I can see why BOS may do it.” Friedman said in a separate tweet.

The 3 p.m. deadline came and went on Monday, and Seth Griffith was still a part of the Boston Bruins organization.

Griffith is enjoying a solid season with the Providence Bruins, Boston’s AHL affiliate.

He is currently sitting in second place in scoring in the league, with the 60 points.

Griffith has skated in two games this year with Boston, recording one assist.

It isn’t clear whether or not Griffith will get the chance to play in the NHL again this year.

Boston acquired forward Lee Stempniak from the Devils and also chose to hang on to winger Loui Eriksson at the deadline. The NHL club also recalled forward Noel Acciari from Providence to play in their next game on Tuesday against Calgary.

Providence will be at home on Friday night when they host Bridgeport.
