OPP: Fatal crash in Lambton County

The investigation is on-going after a fatal crash in Lambton County.

OPP officials say on Friday April 1 at approximately 2 p.m., the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was requested to attend the area of Churchill Line and Mandaumin Road, Town of Plympton-Wyoming regarding a serious motor vehicle collision.

Lambton OPP, along with Lambton Emergency Medical Service (EMS), Sarnia Police Service and Sarnia Fire Department responded to Churchill Line, just east of Mandaumin Road.

Upon arrival, police observed a motor vehicle in the south ditch of Churchill Line.

The vehicle had impacted with a tree located on private property along the south side of the roadway.

The lone driver of the motor vehicle sustained fatal injuries as a result of the collision and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The OPP’s Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI) has been requested and is enroute to the location.

Churchill Line between Mandaumin Road and Plowing Match Road will be closed for approximately 6 hours while investigators attempt to determine the causation of the collision.

The investigation is currently on-going and the OPP are asking the public to avoid traveling in the area as emergency personnel were still on scene.

The identity of the driver is being withheld at this time pending notification to next of kin.
