A resident of Wallaceburg, passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at the age of 80.
Wilfred is the son of the late Aubrey and Beatrice Cox. Beloved husband of Ann (Roe, Pidgeon) Cox. Loving father of Karen Smith (Ellery), Geoff Cox (Penny) and Darren Cox (Michelle), and step-father of Kim Pidgeon (Dawn), Chris Pidgeon (Mary) and Todd Pidgeon (Chris). Cherished grandfather of Emma, Matthew, Ellery Jr., Elizabeth, Roy (Tara), the late Stephen; Stacey (Ehren), Nicole (Dan); Leah, Timber, Amy, Cindy; Megan, Oliver; and great grandfather of Sky, Stella, MacKenzie, Rain, Vance, Dylan, Leighton and Rhett.
Wilf graduated from Ryerson in Business Administration and opened his own business, TownCobbler Shoes’ in Wallaceburg and later was the owner of the Naturalizer Shoe store in Sarnia. Wilf was an avid boater and with his wife and friends spent many years exploring the Great Lakes.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the HAYCOCK-CAVANAGH FUNERAL HOME, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Funeral Service in the chapel on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at 11 am.
