Drinking and driving leads to charge

A Wallaceburg man is facing charges after having too much to drink, and jumping behind the wheel.

Chatham-Kent police officials say on April 10, at approximately 1:25 a.m. police located a vehicle in the area of Park Street and Park Avenue East in the city of Chatham, and conducted a traffic stop.

Through investigation it was determined the male driver’s blood alcohol level was greater than .80mgs of alcohol per 100mls of blood.

The 55-year-old Wallaceburg male was charged with operating a motor vehicle with more than .80mgs of alcohol per 100mls of blood.

He was released with a future court date of April 26.
