A Wallaceburg man is facing charges following an incident in Chatham.
Chatham-Kent police officials say on April 12, at 2 p.m. a man surprised his ex-girlfriend in a parking lot in Chatham as she was attending an appointment.
The man, currently on conditions not to communicate with her, engaged in a conversation trying to repair their relationship, police allege.
As the woman asked him to leave, he grabbed her cellphone and fled the area.
Yesterday morning, police located the man and he was arrested.
The 29-year-old Wallaceburg man was charged with failing to comply and theft under $5,000.
He was transported to the courthouse pending a bail hearing.
