A Bothwell man faces charges after a woman was shot last month fishing on the banks of the Thames River.
OPP officials say on March 11th, just after 7 p.m., officers responded to a report regarding an injury sustained by a 22-year old female, from Ridgetown, while she was fishing on the banks of the Thames River, near Bothwell.
An investigation by members of the Essex OPP Crime Unit, Middlesex OPP Crime Unit, Moraviantown First Nation Police, Chatham Kent OPP, Chatham-Kent OPP Identification Unit, OPP Canine Unit, and Provincial Liaison Team led to the identity of suspect.
On April 13th, 2016, members of the Essex OPP Crime Unit arrested and charged a Bothwell man with:
– Criminal Negligence Cause Bodily Harm, s.221, CC
– Careless Use of a Firearm, s. 86(1), CC
– Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, s. 91(1), CC
– Fail to Comply with Probation Order, s. 733.1(1), CC
The accused was held for a bail hearing to answer to the charges.
