“We know what we got with (Glebe). He is going to come and play night after night. Last year, I never saw him have a bad game,” said Gord Lilley, head coach of the team.

Although only held to 35 shots, the Wallaceburg Thrashers took quality over quantity and netted nine goals.

Colin McDowall led the Thrashers, netting four of those goals.

Kyle Childerhose found twine once, and picked up two helpers for three points.

William Trudeau and Reid Miller both got three assists and Tyler Glebe picked up two.

The Thrashers came out flying in the first period, scoring four times and only holding the visiting James’s Gang to 2.

A defensive second period saw only 4 goals apiece; Ennismore snuck 3 past the Thrashers for a 5-5 showdown in the third.

A close third period saw 10 goals, but once again Ennismore was able to sneak by, picking up six of them. As the final buzzer sounded, the final score read 11-9 for the opposing Ennismore James’s Gang.

“We came out really quick, things looked good in the first period, but we had a terrible second period and that cost us the game,” Lilley said.

“We have to play a more disciplined style, out of 60 minutes of lacrosse, we were short-handed for 35 of it; you can’t win a lacrosse game when you’re short-handed.”

The Thrashers’ next home game is Sunday, May 8 against Owen Sound at 4 p.m.
