Crash leads to impaired driving charge

Police officials say on Thursday night around 8:20 p.m. the man was driving westbound on Pioneer Line towards Arkwood Road with two friends when he lost control of his vehicle, left the roadway and struck a hydro pole.

The man sustained minor injuries.

Luckily, his passengers were not injured.

Through investigation, the officer suspected the man was driving while under the influence of alcohol and a roadside breath test was administered.

The man failed and was arrested.

He was transported to police headquarters for further breath tests.

A 19-year-old man from Kent Bridge was charged with having a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit.
He was released pending a future court date of May 11, 2016.
