Learn how to ‘protect your pics’

SKARIB36ET

Today’s smartphones and tablets make taking pictures easy but what would happen if your device went missing or was damaged?

Devices are easy to replace but if you aren’t backing up your photos and other files, they may never be recoverable.

This June, CKPL wants to help you “Protect Your Pics!”

Join tech whiz Richard Drouillard at the Wallaceburg Branch Thursday, June 2 at 6:30 pm for the “Protect Your Pics!” tech workshop.

This workshop will give you the knowledge and steps you need to take to make sure that you never lose your photos and files, no matter what happens.

Through this workshop you will learn:

– Why saving files to your computer isn’t enough

– How to backup the photos and other data from your smartphone or tablet

– How to backup all the files from your Mac or PC

– Different types of backup

– Security considerations when backing up

– How to recover quickly when disaster strikes

Richard Drouillard is a CK resident and has worked as a database professional for the Municipality for the past ten years.

He has two degrees in Computer Science from the University of Windsor and a love of all things technical.

As a new father, he appreciates the importance of ensuring that his photos and files do not get lost and how devastating it would be if something happened to them.
