Wallaceburg is stepping up for Alberta

Wallaceburg is stepping to help those impacted by the devastating fires in Fort McMurray, Alberta.

Deb Logan told the Sydenham Current that their family business, Wallace-Kent Sprinkler Systems Inc., is collecting items and driving them out to Fort McMurray.

“They are in need of supplies’ Logan said.

“Our trucks will be leaving Friday, May 13. We are accepting supplies at our shop on Monday through Thursday, May 9 to 12 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. daily.

Logan said the supplies that are needed, include:

– Powdered baby formula

– Water

– Baby Diapers

– Baby wipes

– Toiletries for men and women

Logan said they are no bringing any food items please as they are going to travel through the United States for quicker travel.

Wallace-Kent Sprinkler Systems Inc. is located at 304 Arnold Street, Unit A.

Community Living Wallaceburg is also stepping up to help the residents of Alberta.

They will be holding a barbecue fundraiser on Friday, May 13 from 11 a.m. To 1 p.m. At the Co-Operators parking lot on Dufferin Ave. In Wallaceburg.

All proceeds will go to the Red Cross.
