The family-friendly event will serve as a great way to celebrate the Canada Day weekend, while showcasing the recreational opportunities surrounding Chatham-Kent, stated Don Shropshire, CAO of Chatham-Kent.

“The Municipality of Chatham-Kent accepts no liability for this event,” Shropshire stated in a press release.

Municipal administration will observe the following safety protocols to enhance the safety of those attending the Grassy 2 ROCK event.

The event will be cancelled if any of the following situations pose a threat to participants and participants will be encouraged to head to shore, including:

All participants are responsible for observing the legal requirements of operating a boat in open water, such ensuring there are personal flotation devices and the required safety equipment on board the boat,” Shropshire said.

Participants are reminded that there are also legal restrictions regarding consuming alcohol while boating.
