Two people were arrested and an estimated $55,000 worth of cocaine was seized after a lengthy surveillance investigation was completed in Chatham-Kent.
Chatham-Kent police officials say on July 8th, members of Chatham-Kent Police Intelligence Unit with the assistance of the London Police Service Guns and Drugs Unit and Chatham-Kent Uniform Branch completed the investigation regarding the importation of cocaine into the Municipality of Chatham-Kent.
As a result of the operation a 33-year old Chatham man and a 32-year-old Windsor man were arrested and charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking.
The amount of cocaine seized has an estimated street value of $55,000, police officials say.
The 33-year old man, who is currently before the courts on significant possession for the purpose of trafficking with cocaine and cannabis marijuana charges, was further charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance (cocaine and cannabis resin) as well as six counts of breach of recognizance.
Both males were held in police custody pending a bail hearing.
