Chatham-Kent police responded to a serious crash between Dresden and Thamesville on Tuesday evening.
Police officials say last night at 7:20 p.m. emergency crews responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Base Line between Brick Road and Smoke Line.
The driver, a 49-year-old Cambridge man lost control of his vehicle, left the roadway and came to rest in a ditch.
Both the man and his wife, a 52-year-old woman, had to be extricated from the vehicle.
He was transported to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance for medical attention where he was treated and released.
She was air lifted from the scene to the London Health Sciences Centre with serious injuries.
The collision remains under investigation by the Traffic Management Section.
