The WAMBO River Run took place on Saturday morning in Wallaceburg, and 195 runners/walkers took part in the 4th annual event.
The Defiance Running Club, who organizes the event, had excellent representation and results in the run.
Tim Blanchard finished 1st overall in the 5k. Owen Peters came in 2nd, while Port Lambton’s Lee Foster finished 10th.
MJ Perry finished 4th in the walk division.
Jennifer Anthony finished 9th, Barb Roe 10th and Greg Ross 11th.
In the 10k, Ryan Nowakawski continues to impress with a 2nd place finish.
Matt Anthony finished 5th and Bob Mayo finished 10th.
“The air was so thick, you had to chew it before you could swallow it but everyone prevailed,” club organizers stated on social media.

Male Winner – Nathan Outridge – 39:59
Female Winner Krista Cranston 42:59 (holds the course record 41:17)
5k Assisted female course record: 22:47 Catherine Parr
5k Male Course record: 16:32 Hendrik Vermeulen
10k Male Course record: 33:36 Shawn Master
