Community Living Wallaceburg has cause to celebrate this fall as they commemorate 60 years of building inclusive communities.

Celebrations kick off September 13th with a special Community baseball game. Members of the community will be taking to the field at Kinsmen Park to play against the Wallaceburg Wolves, Community Living’s adapted baseball team.

The public is invited to take part in a special flash crowd to surprise the players.

The crowd will gather in front of AA Wright Public school and will carry signs and noisemakers as they make their way to field to cheer on all the players during the game.

The celebrations continue the week of September 25th as businesses are encouraged to change their signs for a week to mark the impact of Community Living Wallaceburg in the area.

Formal letters will be sent to businesses in the fall with the special Anniversary slogan.

The public is invited to join the Agency on September 29th at Baldoon Clubhouse as they look back on the last year of staff, people supported and volunteer accomplishments. This year’s AGM will also feature a special 60th celebration that includes recognizing seven people from the community who have shaped the Agency over the last 60 years.

Finally, the 60th celebrations conclude with a Sock Hop October 29th at the UAW Hall. Tickets to this event are $10 each and includes admission to the event, oldies music, a cash bar and one trip to the malt shop. The Sock Hop is open to the community, people supported, their families and Community Living Wallaceburg staff.
