DNA helps solve B&E in Chatham

In February of 2016 police responded to a residence on Mulberry Court in Chatham in regards to a break and enter which had occurred.

At this time, the owner reported that unknown suspects had broken into his residence and stolen a long list of property.

The residence was examined and evidence was seized for forensic analysis.

Police subsequently received information from the Centre of Forensic Sciences stating that a DNA profile was generated and matched that of a local man.

Yesterday morning, shortly after 9 a.m. police located the man in Chatham and he was arrested.

A 29-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with break and enter.

He was released with a future court date of September 30th 2016.
