The final numbers are in!! The grand total that we were able to give to the 3 charities from the Live Band Charity Drive and the Screening of the Tragically Hip’s: A National Celebration concert in Tecumseh Park, on Aug. 20th, 2016 was… $17,352.
That is broken up as follows:
– Chatham-Kent Hospice – $6,377.
– Sunnybrook Foundation (Gord Downie Fund) – $6,377
– Knights of Columbus – $4,598
The amount raised for charities was after paying the $38,435 in expenses (that includes the $9,138 cost of beer sold), so I would say we did pretty good, especially considering it rained from 7-8:30pm that night.
Before the date of the event on Aug. 20th, we had raised $24,213 to help cover the expenses (in only five weeks).
