Another day of Terry Fox Runs has taken place across Canada, and once again thousands of dollars has been raised in the Wallaceburg and Dresden communities for cancer research.

In Dresden, a total of $32,150 was raised, while 352 participants and volunteers took part.

“Dresden continues to live up to the statement that ‘Terry Fox lives here’,” said Cindy Brewer, the organizer of the Dresden run.

“Our committee is tired and happy today. We send our thanks to everyone that helped out, travelled the course and pledged money for cancer research.”

In Wallaceburg, the Terry Fox Run raised over $9,000 this year, and around 100 participated.

The Terry Fox Run is a non-competitive event where people get together as individuals, families, and groups to raise money for cancer research in Terry’s name. It is a day of celebrating Terry’s legacy and helping to keep alive his dream of finding a cure for cancer.

Terry Fox Runs take place in over 9,000 communities across Canada every year and are accessible to anyone in a non-competitive atmosphere.

Participants can run, walk, blade or bike and most of all have fun while raising funds for cancer research.
