The 2nd annual Wallaceburg Pumpkin Fest, organized by the Wallaceburg Kinsmen, is taking place on Saturday, September 24.
It all gets started with a church breakfast at 9 a.m.
“The Knox Presbyterian Church comes and serves breakfast. Eggs, bacon, sausage, a fruit cup and coffee for $5,” said Eric Hancock, event organizer and Kinsmen member.
“They give us a portion, but most of the proceeds go back to the church. The portion that goes to the Kinsmen, goes back into the community.”
Following breakfast, Hancock said the Wallaceburg Lakers will have a fry truck at the event as well
Hancock said the craft fair runs from approximately 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
“The Wallaceburg Skating Club is running the fair,” he said.
“100% all of the proceeds are going to the Wallaceburg Skating Club.”
Children will be entertained at the event in the ‘Kid’s Zone’.
“In the ‘Kid’s Zone’ we have a bouncy castle and a bouncy slide,” Hancock said.
“As a minimum that is what we have. We have decorating of small pumpkins. I think we had 100 pumpkins last year and they all went very quickly. We are also giving away free balloons to the kids.
