Progressive Ford donates to Salvation Army

The crew at Progressive Ford recently made a nice donation to the Wallaceburg Salvation Army, and they are not finished yet.

Terri Bechard, a sales consultant at the Wallaceburg car dealership, told the Sydenham Current they have been gathering canned goods for the past several years.

“The bulk of them are from WDSS Bronze Boot weekend,” she said.

“In order for the kids to get out of class, the kids have to bring in canned goods. They get to go down to the gym and watch all the activities for the day. We take it a step farther. Whichever classroom gets the most amount of canned goods, they get a pizza party. So they alone gave between 400 and 500 cans.”

Bechard added: “It’s a great program and we would like to thank everybody for participating.”

Bechard said Progressive Ford will also be doing a toy drive at the upcoming Wallaceburg and District Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours event on Thursday December 8.

“We are looking for brand new toys,” she said.

“You can drop them off to the dealership starting now. Now that this truck is empty, I will certainly take toys. We will take whatever they can give to us so we can give it to the Salvation Army.”

Here are some photos from the day the donations was made:
