The Chatham-Kent Police Service is still investigating the missing person case from this past weekend, and the investigation is still focused on the Thames River.
“An extensive ground search, as well as search efforts on the river were conducted all day yesterday,” stated Staff Sergeant Mike Domony.
“The search, in the river, will continue today for this missing person.”
Domony said the man, a 66-year-old resident of Chatham-Kent, has been missing now since late on Sunday and from the beginning, the search has been in the area of the river adjacent to the residence.
“Our marine unit will be in the river today to continue this aspect of the search for this male,” Domony said.
“On behalf of the family I renew the request to give them time to deal with this situation, our thoughts and prayers go out to them at this time.”
