Update: Police investigating stabbing on St. Clair Parkway

Update: At approximately 3:30 am, this morning, officers from the Sarnia Police Service responded to a stabbing that took place in 1700 block of the St. Clair Parkway.

Upon arrival it was determined that a 53 year old female and a 16 year old female had been stabbed. It is also believed that the suspect is a 22 year old male, who appears to have stabbed himself as well. All three were taken to hospital with what is believed to be non-life threatening injuries. All three parties are known to each other.

Charges are pending as the investigation continues.

River Road remains closed and will remain closed for the next several hours as members of the Sarnia Police Service Criminal Investigation Branch and Forensic Identification Branch continue their investigation.

River Road is closed from Churchill Line and LaSalle Line in both north and south directions. No traffic will be allowed through at this time, including transports. Drivers are asked to find alternative routes and avoid the area.

Original story: The Sarnia Police Service is currently investigating an assault which occurred in the 1700 block of St. Clair Parkway.

As a result of the investigation, St. Clair Parkway has been closed to north and south bound traffic in that area.

Traffic is being diverted at Churchill Line and LaSalle Line.

Police are asking that motorists avoid that area.

As a result of the assault, three people have been taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The investigation is ongoing and more information will be released at a later time.
