Seth picks up assist

Wallaceburg’s Seth Griffith picked up an assist in a 3-1 Florida Panthers win in Dallas on New Year’s Eve.

The 23-year-old forward had a helper on a Vincent Trochek goal in the first period.

Griffith was +1 in 15:40 minutes of ice time

Griffith now has 5 assists in 22 games this season.

Florida will host Winnipeg in their next game on Wednesday night.

T.J. named third star, picks up assist

Dresden’s T.J. Brodie was named the third star on New Year’s Even in a 4-2 Calgary Flames win over the Arizona Coyotes.

Brodie picked up 1 assist and was +1 in 24:06 minutes of ice time.

The 26-year-old defender has 3 goals and 11 assists in 39 games so far this season.

Calgary hosts Colorado on Wednesday.

Dresden Kings top Wheatley

The Dresden Kings took over sole possession of 6th place in the Hobbs Division, with a convincing 10-4 win over the Wheatley Sharks on Friday night.

The Kings and Sharks went into the game tied with 27 points each.

Dillon Libery was on fire once again, scoring 3 goals goals and adding 1 assist.

Kevin Ritzer had 2 goals and 2 assists, Macks Holmes had 2 goals and 1 assist, while Kadin Ritchie, Noah Fox and Eric carter each added goals.

Brendan Ritchie has 5 assists on the night.

Joel Sowinski made 30 saves for the win.

Dresden (14-17-1) will be back in action on Tuesday when they visit the first place Essex squad (24-7-1).

Lakers lose 21st straight

The Amherstburg Admirals thumped the Wallaceburg Lakers on Friday night 11-1.

Ty Lucio scored the lone Lakers goal.

Wallaceburg (1-29-1) remains in last place in the Hobbs division and have now lost 21 straight games.

The Lakers will be busy this week when they visit Wheatley on Monday, host Patrolia on Wednesday and visit Petrolia on Thursday.
