The writing club at the Adult Activity Centre in Wallaceburg is almost ready to release a brand new book.

Chris Jenkins, one of the books seven authors, said the copies of the book entitled Breezes, Currents and Sighs will be available on Friday at the Centre.

“We finally managed to get it all together,” she said.

“There are seven authors, seven local writers that have contributed to this book. Each one has done between five to seven stories and poems. There is content about Wallaceburg as well which makes it kind of nice if there is local content. The stories are very varied. We have got lots of interest in there so it looks great.”

Jenkins said it has taken a lot of work to get the book together.

“It has been a labour of love but its been more labour,” she said.

“Just coming up with the title took us awhile. We were Tales from the Junk Drawer, but we are doing that later. This book is called Breezes, Currents and Sighs. The cover will kind of explain it. The picture is of the back part of the Wallaceburg Adult Activity Centre of the tree blowing and the Sydenham River. It just kind of all goes together.”

Shortly after the book is available, there is going to be a book signing held at the Centre.

Jenkins said the Wallaceburg Library has asked them to do an evening where the writers would do some reading, and sell some books too.

Cost to purchase one of the books is $15.

“We will be making a donation to the Centre because we have to pay for these books ourselves for making them and they are not cheap,” Jenkins said.

“We aren’t really making much money. We are only making a few dollars, but we do plan on donating to the Centre because this is where our club meets.

Watch for more information about the book when they become available.
