The investigation is on-going after a crash claimed the life of a Chatham man on Thursday.
Police officials say last night around 8:40 p.m. a fatal collision occurred on Bloomfield Road, north of Middle Line.
The northbound car, driven by a 35-year-old Chatham man, appeared to have lost control and crossed into the on-coming lane where a Merlin woman was driving southbound.
As a result of the collision, the man suffered injuries that took his life.
The woman has serious, but non-life threatening injuries and remains in the hospital.
“On behalf of the Chatham-Kent Police Service, our most heartfelt sympathies go out to the families,” police officials stated. “Our thoughts are with them during this difficult time.”
The collision remains under investigation by the Chatham-Kent Police Service Traffic Management Unit.
