Port Lambton resident Bob Murphy told the Sydenham Current travelers were being held up in the United States for over an hour,
A “power outage in Marine City (was) forcing U.S. customs to board the ferry and collect IDs and call them in individually into Sarnia instead of the normal scan,” Murphy said.
Strong winds on Wednesday knocked out power for over 800,000 customers across Michigan.
“DTE’s restoration teams are fully mobilized and working 24/7 to restore power to all customers,” DTE Energy officials said.
“So far, we’ve restored more than 50% of the 800,000 customers impacted, and we expect to restore 200,000 more customers today. Customers will receive restoration estimates as crews are assigned to assess and repair damage in their area. We fully expect to restore at least 90% of outages by 11:30 p.m. on Sun., March 12. We know outages are difficult and we thank you for your continued patience.”
