Two Wallaceburg District Secondary School teams competed at the Professional Engineers of Ontario Impromptu Design Competition in Chatham last weekend, as part of National Engineering Month.
The WDSS teams placed second and fourth in the competition held at Chatham-Kent Secondary School.
There were eight teams from Lambton/Kent area at the competition.
The event involved designing and creating the most accurate and effective catapult using a limited number of supplies.
“Both teams did an incredible job and made the WDSS staff and students proud,” said Laura Cumming, the physics teacher at WDSS.
The students involved were Matthew Forgie, Chris Morrison and James Gielen, who placed second, and Reilly DePooter and Aaron Kraayenbrink, who placed fourth.
