A sleeping stranger, who had eaten $25 worth of food and drank six beers, was found inside a Wallaceburg garage on Thursday.
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials say yesterday morning at 7:40 a.m. a man was located inside a detached garage of a residence in Wallaceburg.
The owner observed that the main-door of the garage was damaged.
The damage value was estimated at $150.
When the woman entered the garage, she found the man sleeping inside on a couch.
When she took a picture of him with her cell phone, he woke up.
The man was ordered to leave and he did.
It was then discovered that the man had consumed approximately $25 worth of food and drank a total of six beers while there.
Police were called and attended the location.
The picture of the man was provided to police.
At 8 a.m. the man was arrested just a short distance away.
A police check revealed that there are outstanding warrants in the Niagara Region for him.
The 21-year-old, Port Colborne man was charged with break and enter, as well as theft under $5,000.
He was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where he has been held for a bail hearing.
