The Oberammergau Passion Play takes place only once every ten years, making it one of the premier events in travel.
Did you know?
1. The men in the village begin to grow long hair and beards one year prior to the play.
2. Only residents who were born or have lived in Oberammergau for at least 20 years are allowed to participate.
3. World War II forced the cancellation of the scheduled performance in 1940 and it did not to resume until 1950.
