‘Hime for Help’ relaunches

‘Hime for Help’ is relaunching in the community, with their eyes set on helping children in Haiti.

Emily Hime, the founder of the group, has a new team and they are excited to speak with groups, service clubs, churches and organizations about their past journey, their new energy, and the exciting projects happening in the coming months.

“I am thrilled to have a new team behind me,” Hime said in a press release.

“I look forward to the strength, expertise, and focus that our organization will gain from these new volunteers.”

As the 15 children at Maison Ke Kontan home in Haiti finish out their school year, the organization is planning to move into a more suitable home that will enable the children to attend better schools, live in a safer environment, utilize more developed recreational areas, and access important services.

“We’ve struggled financially in the last year,” Hime said.

“My focus has been divided between the Maison Ke Kontan children and my growing family including the light of my life, my new son Beau. It has been difficult not being on the ground in Haiti on a full-time basis. I am excited to join forces with a new group of committed volunteers who will help me find my balance and restore financial stability to the organization ensuring a better future for the children of Maison Ke Kontan.”

Hime said financial sustainability has been tested the past year and the organization requires $40,000 to restore programs and ensure that the children’s continued safety and nutritional needs are met.

Donation can be made at www.himeforhelp.org.

As part of the relaunch, Hime will be sharing the story of how she and a friend became the sole hope and future for these vulnerable children in 2012.

Groups can hear about the incredible work that has been done from providing basic necessities such as food, shelter, clothing, education and healthcare, to creating a safe, nurturing environment where children can thrive through schooling, extracurricular activities, counselling, and life skills.
