Two signature events for the Foundation of the CKHA

The Foundation of Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (CKHA) has announced the dates of two signature events in support of the Foundation of CKHA’s $6.9 million CKHA Diagnostic Imaging Equipment Renewal Campaign. The 12th Annual Pro/Am at Maple City Country Club will take place Friday, August 11, 2017 and the 5th Annual Chatham-Kent Pumpkin Run will take place Sunday, October 1, 2017 at Rondeau Provincial Park.

“We need to raise another $2.5 million for the Diagnostic Imaging Equipment Renewal Campaign to purchase a much needed replacement CT Scan,” said Barb Noorenberghe, Development Officer. “These fun and popular events are a great way for the community to support this new equipment purchase.”

About the CKHA Diagnostic Imaging Equipment Renewal Campaign

Launched in late 2014, the $6.9 million Diagnostic Imaging Equipment Renewal Campaign will support CKHA in the purchase of new equipment for the Diagnostic Imaging Department, including a urgently needed replacement of the dated CT Scan at a cost of $2.5 million.

The current CT Scan has reached its end of life, often down for repairs. Patients are having to reschedule appointments or are being referred to other hospitals. The current CT Scan shows 16 images, with the new CT Scan showing at least 8 times more for faster and more accurate diagnosis. More than 12,000 CT Scans were performed in 2016 at CKHA.

To date, more than $4.4 million has been raised for the campaign.

About the 5th Annual Chatham-Kent Pumpkin Run

Held on Saturday, October 1, 2017 at Rondeau Provincial Park, this year’s fun, family fundraising event will once again feature a 5km walk, a 5km run, a 10km run and a 100m ‘Lil Pumpkin Kids Dash. This is a chip timed event. All participants that register before September 12 will be guaranteed a technical tshirt. Registration includes a medal, entry into the park, and snacks after the race. Fees increase after September 12. Both registration and pledges can be made by visiting www.foundationckha.com, or visiting the Foundation of CKHA office at 9 Ursuline Ave., Chatham.

About the 12th Annual Pro/Am Golf Tournament

Held on Friday, August 11, 2017 at Maple City Country Club, this year’s signature event will once again see participants enjoying 18 holes of golf alongside a CPGA-golf professional, with many opportunities to win prizes through games of skill. As one of the Foundation of CKHA’s signature events, this sell-out golf tournament is a wonderful opportunity for members of the community to enjoy a round of golf at the private Maple City Country Club while supporting local healthcare.
