The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is continuing a recovery effort for a missing 25 year old Kingsville man whose canoe capsized last evening at approximately 5 p.m. on Lake Erie in Kingsville.
The OPP has set up a mobile command unit at the Leamington Marina, 90 Robson Road, Leamington, Ontario to coordinate the search.
The Essex County and Chatham OPP marine units are currently searching the waters of Lake Erie in the vicinity where the man was last seen.
The OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit (USRU) and helicopter are enroute and will soon join in the recovery efforts.
OPP officials say the man was fishing alone in the canoe when his friends on shore observed the canoe capsize.
The man was believed to be a non-swimmer and not wearing a life jacket.
