‘Community of bikers’ launching in Wallaceburg

If anyone in Wallaceburg is interested in cycling, a local woman is planning to create a ‘community of bikers.’

“It is not really a group and it’s not really a club, because everybody is going to have their own agenda,” Sherri-Anne Wills told the Sydenham Current.

“So we will be biking outside of Wallaceburg, inside of Wallaceburg. Wherever the community feels they want to go. It is going to be informal. There is not going to be ‘lets try to push you further’… that will would be an individual, whatever they want to do.”

Wills said her first step is to hold a meet-and-greet on Tuesday, June 13 at the Fountain Park in downtown Wallaceburg between 6:30 p.m. and 7 p.m.

“It is just to grow Wallaceburg as a community,” she said.

“There is so many new people coming that are looking for friendships and what better way than to get together and start out biking. For me, I want to go to Dresden at the end of August or the beginning of September, so I am doing both endurance and site seeing, per say. So one day I might do the endurance and another time I would have my camera with me and say ‘oh, there is some nature I want to take a picture of.'”

Wills added: “It is to get out and enjoy Wallaceburg out of the car but going further than what you can do with walking.”
