Wallaceburg man faces break-in charges

A Wallaceburg man faces break-in charges after an incident in Chatham.

Police officials say on July 21, between the hours of 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. a man allegedly attended a Chatham residence in an attempt to speak with a woman that he knew lived there.

Police say the woman advised that she did not wish to speak with him and asked him to leave.

The man then allegedly entered through an open back door and confronted the woman inside her own home.

The woman pushed him out of her residence.

On August 3, at around 3 p.m. the woman called police to report that the man allegedly kept driving by her residence.

On this date, she also reported the July 21st incident.

At 7:50 p.m. the 30-year-old man was arrested at his house in Wallaceburg and charged with break and enter and commit harassment.

He was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters and has been held for a bail hearing
