Police investigating a robbery in Chatham

Police are investigating a robbery that took place in Chatham.

Police officials say last night at 8:25 p.m. an unknown man entered Harvey Street Variety and allegedly demanded cash from the store clerk while brandishing a golf club.

The woman’s husband was able to scare the man off before he could steal anything.

Luckily, no one was injured.

The suspect was last seen running north on Library Lane wearing a white hoodie, black mask covering his face, gloves, black sweat pants with red strips down the side and black sandals.
