A number of Wallaceburg residents were without their telephone, Internet and television services for several hours on Tuesday.
Cogeco posted on their website that an outage begin at 3:12 p.m. in Wallaceburg.
Gabriel Beauséjour, senior advisor for external communications for Cogeco, told the Sydenham Current their technicians worked hard to resolve the problem.
“On Tuesday, we experienced technical difficulties caused by an optical fiber cut in the Wallaceburg area impacting telephone, Internet and television services,” Beauséjour said.
“The network outage was due to circumstances outside our control and our technicians have worked diligently to restore services as quickly as possible. The situation was resolved at the end of the evening.”
Beauséjour said “few customers were impacted” due to the outage.
An exact number was not provided.
