Cold spell expected until Saturday

A cold snap is expected from late Thursday through Saturday, as Environment Canada issues a special weather statement for Chatham-Kent.

Forecasters say a bitterly cold northwesterly flow will develop over southern Ontario on Thursday.

“Extreme cold warning criteria of minus 30 is expected to be met in many places Thursday night into Friday and again Friday night into Saturday,” Environment Canada officials stated.

“The cold snap will end by Sunday as a southwesterly flow develops.”

Forecasters say to continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
