Police looking to ID alleged wallet thief

Police are looking for the public’s help to identify an alleged thief in Chatham.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials say on Friday, January 5, 2018 an unknown man was allegedly captured on video surveillance taking another customer’s wallet while in the checkout lane of Food Basics on St. Clair Street in Chatham.

Police say video surveillance also shows that when given the chance, the man allegedly made no attempt to return the wallet to the owner.

Police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the man.
