Failure to attend court leads to arrest in Wallaceburg

A Wallaceburg man was arrested this week after he allegedly failed to attend court, once again.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials say in October 2017, the man was released from custody for the offences of fail to comply and two counts of fail to attend court.

He was required to attend court on November 29, 2017 and again, failed to do so, police allege.

Therefore, a warrant was issued for his arrest, police say.

Police officials say last night at 11 p.m. an officer on general patrol stopped the man riding his bicycle on Gillard Street in Wallaceburg.

At 11:03 p.m. the 27-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested on the warrant for the above mentioned offences and additionally charged with failing to attend court.

He was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where he has been held for a bail hearing.
