Cab driver robbed after ride from Dresden to Sarnia

A cab driver was robbed after a ride from Dresden to Sarnia.

Sarnia Police Service officials allege on February 26, 2018, at around 10 p.m., a taxi driver was robbed of money after driving a fare from Dresden to a Sarnia residence.

On arriving at the residence the accused failed to pay the fare, police allege.

The accused then allegedly brandished a knife which he held at the driver and demanded money

The accused then fled the area on foot after obtaining cash from the driver.

The accused was located and arrested at another Sarnia residence on February 27, at about 4:40 a.m.

A 23-year-old Sarnia man is charged with two counts of Breach of Probation, Robbery, Assault with a Weapon, Utter Threats to cause Bodily Harm, Possession of a Dangerous Weapon and Transportation Fraud.

The suspect remains in custody awaiting a bail hearing.
