Driver falls asleep behind the wheel

The Chatham-Kent OPP say on March 8, 2018, around 4 a.m. Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a motor vehicle collision on Highway 401 near Kent Bridge Road.

Police allege investigation revealed the driver of an eastbound motor vehicle had fallen asleep and entered the ditch.

There were no injuries reported or damage to the vehicle.

The vehicle was towed from the ditch.

As a result, the male driver, a 25-year-old from Brampton, Ontario was charged with careless driving, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
