Forcible confinement charges have been laid in Wallaceburg.
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege that last night, a verbal argument began between a man and his girlfriend while at their residence in Wallaceburg.
The incident escalated into a physical altercation and when the woman tried to leave the residence, the man stopped her, police allege.
The woman was eventually allowed to leave and police were notified.
Early this morning, police located the man and he was arrested.
The 27-year-old Wallaceburg man has been charged with assault, assault with a weapon and forcible confinement.
He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
